Sodales,

Within these pages you find a summary of the papers of my mater, Fredrica, a wizard then Prima of the House Mercere. During her early service to the Order she travelled its furthest tribunals, both eastern and western. Later, as a founder of the House covenant of Aqila Regis she co-ordinated the creation of the Portal linking the Venetian chapterhouse of Harco, the Domus Magnus of Mercere, to the north African coast. As a Steward of Harco my mater maintained a web of contacts with other researchers in her field. During her tenure the application of Animal magics to the solution of everyday problems of Redcaps reached unprecedented levels of sophistication.

Although her tenure as Prima often diverted Fredrica from her studies she continued to produce observations vital to the research of others. During this time she published her researches into familiarisation, which have affected the lives of dozens of magi for the better.

I commend this work to your perusal.

Camille, fillia Fredrica, wizard of Mercere, at the Covenant of Aquilia Regis.
