Davis

Davis is one of the Covenant's experienced grogs, serving in Braeble's Bears. He has been at Malinbois for about fourteen years, going on many expeditions since he was first taken out about seven years ago. He is rather stupid and swears a lot, but is good at fighting and climbing. He has recent been promoted to sergeant - perhaps not the best choice.

Appearance

He is brawny and of average height. His eyes are blue and his blond hair is crudely cut short. He actually looks reasonably impressive, but this effect is totally ruined by the openmouthed vacant expression which he always wears.

Origins

He grew up in the nearby town of Belabre, but was sadly too dimwitted to enter into the family business. So instead of cleaning out the cesspits like his father before him, he decided to join the Turb at Malinbois, when he was discovered by Napoleon scouting for new recruits some years ago.

Notes

Davis is too stupid to be afraid in a fight - in fact he sometimes gets a little overenthusiastic and has to be calmed down. One of these days he is going to get himself into trouble with the Magi with his constant swearing - he is not intentionally disrespectful but he just doesn't know how to be polite.

His worst mistake so far was when he was trying to explain to Nafesi how to climb. Nafesi was too stupid to understand and so Davis got angry and tried a more direct approach... and kicked him down the cliff! Nafesi was very badly injured, but luckily did not die.

His major objective on expeditions is to receive a "commendation" from the magi. He has learnt that this means more beer. The smarter grogs are constantly kept on their toes by making suggestions to their sergeant without making it seem like they're giving orders. His loyalty dropped recently when the magi didn't seem too bothered when a vicious Criamon maga left him overnight in a tree. He was left hanging by his testicles, and they were sore for weeks afterwards!

Davis was almost killed recently when Death turned into a foul cloud of black vapour. However he was flown back to Malinbois as fast as possible, and since he is a sergeant, the magi decided to use vis to save his life. He still plans to avenge the death of his brother Charles by killing the Devourer.

However Davis did not live up to his boasts of being able to take on the Devourer single-handed - at the Place of Battle he was incapacitated by a malefic effect.
