Gemaric is Marcus' apprentice. Having spent over 50 years as a rock, he
naturally has an affinity for the art of Terram.

Appearance
Gemaric appears as a stocky young lad of 15. His skin has a washed-out greyish
tint, and his short hair, which seems to be prematurely receding, is the
colour of freshly turned soil. His eyes are grey. Gemaric has just started
shaving, but as yet is inexperienced, often leaving behind scrappy stubble,
which his master jokingly refers to as "lichen". He has broad shoulders,
incongruous on one so young, and heavy limbs, meaning that he walks with a
lumbering step. Gemaric is very shy, and if embarrassed, has the tendancy to
turn into a 2' diameter, 3' high boulder. This shape can sprout stubbly legs
and totter out of harm's way.

Notes
Gemaric was born in 1146AD to Josephine, a consors at the covenant of Calebais,
now destroyed. At the age of 5, the Sundering of Calebais occured due to the
squabbling of the Magi, and to protect her prospective apprentice, the Maga
Granordan turned the young Gemaric into a rock. Unfortunately, the mighty
Terram Maga perished in the Sundering, and Gemaric remained as a rock.
Eventually, over time, the intense magical aura of the ruined Calebais warped
the young Gemaric, awakening him from the magical slumber that Granordan's
spell had placed him in. After another decade, the magic of Calebais had
altered him sufficiently to allow him to grow legs, and explore the Covenant.
He was very much alone though, except for the occasional encounter with
inquisitive hrools and the insane Igack, a fire-drake familiar of one of the
former Magi.
In 1203AD, Magi from Malinbois discovered Gemaric when they explored the
forgotten holes of Calebais, and brought him back to their covenant, where he
was adopted by Marcus. Using magic, Marcus was able to communicate with the
young Gemaric, but found him incredibly shy, and it was 18 years of
befriending before Gemaric could be coaxed into human form, assisted by
Marcus. It was at this point that he started to age once more. In 1227AD
Marcus deemed that Gemaric was ready to start magical training, and the boy
agreed.
