Laurent serves Malinbois and the Val Du Seraque, and vicinity, as the local Red-cap, an unofficial replacement for the last one, Ash of the Broken Branch. He enjoys horse-riding, fencing, camping, and he is a Libra.
He is secretly gathering information about the suspicious deaths of various important figures around the Tribunal for Harco.

Origins

Central Provence, but his reputations preceed him.

Characteristics

Personality Traits

His genial and extrovert nature make him liked by all but the most cynical and bitter members of Malinbois. He is very easy going and often abstains from the politics in councils. He tends to be around if you need company, but not there if you don't. He is always in the right mood for others, even though so many are wary of his reputations.

Notes

He now has a lab and has made some healing salves, he recently won his campaigning to have an `open' lab made, for anyone to use. Among the salves he has made are some highly dodgy ones.
He has recently acquired a friend by the name of Thrush, who often sits on his shoulder on journeys and talks to him.
At the Tribunal of 1235 he met a very nice lady by the name of Larinda, from Dankmar covenant. Finding that she had the same interests as himself (herbalism, singing, dancing and a good time) he promptly fell in love (for the week). He proved that he still has a good voice and can still charm the ladies (Rolled a 19 for Charm).
One result of this dalliance with Larinda is a daughter Lavender, the apple of her father's eye.

Laurent's Vis stores: 1 pawn of Vim, 12 pawns of Imaginem, 12 pawns of Terram, 2 pawns of Aquam, 1 pawn of Auram, 1 pawn of Herbam.

Laurent has a silver ring adorned with a sapphire (+25 Magic Resistance), made for him by Marcus, and a Straw donkey, a foot long and half a foot high, which wears a straw hat and can turn into a horse.

Letter received by Laurent from Harco:

"Salve Laurent, doctrinae Mercandi.

Greetings to you from Harco. We write on a matter of grave import. It has come to our notice that a strange number of coincidences have surrounded the fall of the so called `Narbonnese' Tribunal.
Firstly, the Praeco Vancasitium died in his sleep
[Laurent's note - Spring 1221]. Then, the head of the Cathar cause in Rousillion, Baron Thibaud, died in his sleep, [Note - Spring 1226] causing the Magi of that region to take a more active role in the Crusade.
Next, the Pacifist, Bishop Certagne of Elne died in his sleep,
[Autumn 1225] leaving the more military minded Bishop Orris in charge of all of the Catholics in Rousillion.
Finally, and most tragically, the great Orator and leader of the Procrustean League, ArchMagus Henry Le Barre `Died in his sleep', if you will excuse the sceptism
[Spring 1228].

To us it seems clear that events have been manipulated on a grand scale. Someone has gone as far as to kill the Primus of Flambeau (and Praeco of Provencal), an ArchMage, a Baron and a Bishop.

The purpose of this letter is to warn you, and to ask you to keep alert. We think that you can trust the Magi of Malinbois, but, as is the way of our house, guide them to this conclusion, do not furnish them with the answers.

You are instructed to investigate this matter to the best of your abilities, but caution is advised. Urgency is not great now Narbonne is quashed.

The Concilium Mercandus."

Another death Laurent found out about was that of King Ferdinand of Leon, who died in his sleep in the Winter of 1230. The King of Castille inherits his land. This is strange because the King of Castille was crippled, but recovered with the aid of his blatantly obvious (and yet not stopped) Court Wizard.
