A copy of this fine text, the work of Ricard of Verdi, was recently purchased from the Covenant of Verdi at the cost of seven pawns of Vis. The information in this tome is necessary to perform some of the Rites to Lichdom. A couple of extracts are presented below.

The Athame

This is an important Ritual object to those who would practice the art of Ritual Magic in the High Tradition.

Athames are never constructed of base metals - only gold, silver and perhaps copper will suffice.

For an Athame to have any Ritual power it must be made from as yet unforged metal by the hand of he that intends to use it, and it must be touched not by any save he who made it.

The whole Knife must have a length equal to one cubit, with a blade of two hands length and three fingers wide at the hilt. Both edges must be straight and scalloped to a degree equal to the depth of a thumb-nails curve.

The Kral

The Cauldron of the Art is a little used object, for the Art of Bonisagus has little room for Alchemy on a Grand Scale.

"Cauldron" is a misnomer, the term "Bowl" would be more suitable.

Take a perfect sphere of gold, the size of thy two fists, and mark it with seven equally spaced glyphs representing Aquam, inlaid with silver. Beat the orb flat with a copper mallet until it is a cubit in diameter and 3/16 inch thick, perfectly circular. Inlay with copper the Littera Principa of water, then form into a bowl with no alteration in diameter but now a mere 3/64 inch thick. If thy ministrations have been precise, then the new formed Kral will be 2/3 of a sphere. If this is not so, thy creation is flawed. Discard in the prescribed way and begin once again, but with more care.

Enscribe the rim of thy Kral using a sharped emerald the words "Adrai, Hahlii, Tamali, Tilonas, Athamas, Zianor".

A word of caution. Sully not thy Kral with the touch of base metals, least its Ritual import be lost.
