This is the Home Page for the "Bright Sword, Blessed Hand" Saga for Ars Magica Fifth Edition. It is set in Northern England at the beginning of the Thirteenth Century (1220 AD start date), at which time Northumbria had an uncertain status, belonging to the English Crown, but claimed by the Scottish Crown through the right of inheritance.
The Troupe currently consists of: Mark (SG), Camo (Hygwald), Andrew (Lucas) and Barrie (Edvard)
If you want to contact us (Perhaps to join the troupe - we are located in Newcastle, UK), then please email me (Mark) at viduavastaAThotmailDOTcoDOTuk (with the usual replacement of AT and DOT)
We have a small selection of House Rules (doesn't everyone?)
As well as details of the covenant of Vidua Vasta and its environs, this site also includes an overview of Mythic Northumbria, the Tribunal of Loch Leglean and a few covenants from miscellaneous tribunals that the magi of Vidua Vasta have visited. There are also a few brief notes from the Tribunal of Stonehenge. Finally, there are details on the Covenant of Horsingas, at which the player-magi spent five years before striking out on their own.
The Saga's (rather pretentious) title refers to a Northumbrian legend about King Oswin.
